Riverlawn Exterior Siding Upgrade

Scope: Complete exterior envelope upgrade, siding replacement, window reconfiguration, and electrical service upgrade.
The challenge: The home's exterior had reached the end of its service life and no longer provided the level of protection, efficiency, or functionality the homeowners desired. In addition to upgrading the siding, the project included reconfiguring several window openings to better suit the home's layout while improving the overall performance of the building envelope.
What We Did

Removed the existing exterior siding.

Installed ZIP System® sheathing and weather-resistant barrier to create a stronger, tighter building envelope.

Added a rainscreen system behind the siding to improve drainage and ventilation, helping manage moisture and extend the life of the exterior.

Installed new James Hardie® fiber cement siding for a durable, low-maintenance finish designed for the Central Texas climate.

Reconfigured multiple window openings by removing select windows, framing in and closing unnecessary openings, and installing new windows where improved natural light, functionality, and aesthetics were desired.

Upgraded the home's electrical service panel to better support modern electrical demands and improve safety.

Completed all exterior trim, flashing, and finish details for a cohesive, weather-resistant exterior.
Results
This renovation transformed both the appearance and performance of the home. Beyond its updated exterior, the project improved moisture protection, air sealing, durability, and overall functionality. The Story
Our clients were preparing for retirement and wanted to move closer to their family and grandchildren. They loved the Westlake area but couldn't find a home in the neighborhood that truly fit their needs.
